Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the fresh, crispy fish coated in light batter, which is a highlight on the menu. The crumbed fish is a big hit, along with the famous kumara chips, considered the best in the area due to their unique thin batter. Many return for the great value, with generous portion sizes that leave patrons satisfied and happy. The quick service is another point of appreciation, ensuring meals are served promptly, making it ideal for those on a lunchtime break. Extra touches like complimentary fritters show that customer care is at the heart of LEO'S Seafood.

Most Disliked

While many dishes receive high marks, some visitors note that the regular chips sometimes fall short of expectations. Feedback often mentions they are 'okay' but don't reach the same quality as the rest of the menu. A few comments highlight occasional busyness during peak hours, particularly on Saturday evenings, which can lead to longer wait times. Overall, these minor complaints don't overshadow the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the quality and flavor of the food.

I travelled all the way from Hastings for a hospital appointment and my partner suggested fish n chips for our tea. The fish was fresh the batter was crispy and the oil they used to cook in was clean. I had half a banana fritter leftover the next day and it was still yummy after I zapped it on low in the microwave, with a cheese cake on the side. Best fish n chips 🥰 I've ever experienced any where in the country👍 highly recommended 🤙👍❤️

my favourite takeout place in wellington. have been coming here for a friday night treat as often as possible since moving in and they never disappoint - delicious food, prepared quickly at super affordable prices. the service is wonderful and friendly, owners threw in several extra potato fritters when i ordered a large meal with friends! super grateful to be able to support this place, 100% recommend for anybody new to the area.

Order: Fish & Chips, Corn fritter and hotdog. Total cost: $18.20 Fish was a nice sized Deep Sea Cod fillet. Slight soft crunch on the batter and the flesh was moist and soft to the bite. Fillet was clean and tasty, batter didn’t hold too much grease. Chips were on the low end of expectations based on what I’ve had but they were ok. Corn Fritter was delicious! Good batter to corn kernels ratio and clod well. Hotdog was a pleasure after last weeks debacle. Love a good hotdog. Thanks Leo!

First time here, and I'm really impressed . Friendly and polite service, and quick. Crumbed fish and a scope of chips, nice. Have been in for burgers and special packs all good.

I don’t have fish and chips often, but when I do, I don’t want them to make me regret my life choices and thankfully these don’t! Light crispy battered fish, not too stodgy. The kumara chips are the best. They coat them in a super thin barely there batter, making them the crispiest ones you’ve ever tasted. 2 hours later and I feel great! 😂

Best fish and chips in Wellington. Good sized portions. Fish is never greasy and chips seasoned perfectly. My go to whenever I'm in Newtown. Always great service too.
